Elbow and wrist pain are common ailments osteopaths treat. Often these issues start as slight niggles, but can become debilitating over time. Many of the injuries experienced in the elbow and wrist are the result of repetitive strain, known by many as repetitive strain injuries (RSI).

In our experience, the most common causes elbow and wrist pain are:

  1. Tennis elbow: A type of tendinitis that occurs when the tendons in the elbow are overused, causing pain and tenderness on the outside of the elbow.

  2. Golfer's elbow: Similar to tennis elbow, but with pain and tenderness on the inside of the elbow.

  3. Carpal tunnel syndrome: A condition that occurs when the median nerve, which runs from the forearm into the hand, is compressed, causing pain, numbness, and tingling in the wrist and hand.

  4. Wrist sprain: A condition that occurs when the ligaments in the wrist are stretched or torn, causing pain and swelling.

Note: Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to play tennis or golf to suffer these injuries!
