Hands-on osteopathic treatment at the Matrix clinic

We treat the cause, not just the symptom

The painful spot is rarely the whole story. Before we treat anything, we want to understand how you move, what your days actually look like, and what is really driving this. Then we build a plan together: hands-on treatment to settle things down, and the exercises that make the change stick, so you move better, feel better, and perform better.

Thorough first appointment

We go deep on the cause before we treat.

Hands-on, same session

Treatment starts the day you come in.

A clear plan

You leave knowing the next step.

Honest guidance

No hype, no scare tactics, just straight advice.

How we help

A full range of osteopathic care under one roof.

Osteopathy

Hands-on assessment and treatment that looks at how your whole body moves, not just the painful spot.

Soft tissue therapy

Targeted manual work to release tight, overworked muscles and restore movement.

Joint mobilisation & manipulation

Gentle techniques to improve joint range and reduce stiffness where it has built up.

Dry needling

Fine needles used to settle stubborn muscle tension and trigger points.

Cupping

An adjunct technique to help with circulation and muscular tension.

Rehabilitation & exercise

A clear plan of exercises so progress holds between sessions and you stay out of pain.

Gait analysis

Assessing how you walk and run to find the cause of recurring lower limb issues.

Beyond pain relief

From injury to performance

Getting out of pain is the start, not the finish. Whether you want to return to sport, stay mobile as you age, or simply move through your day without thinking about it, we help you build back stronger and keep you there.

Common questions

A few things people often ask before booking. If your question is not here, give the clinic a call and we will happily talk it through.

Do I need a referral to see an osteopath?+

No. Osteopathy is a primary healthcare profession, so you can book directly without a referral from your GP. If you are accessing care through a specific plan such as a Chronic Disease Management plan or TAC, a referral may be involved, and we are happy to talk you through it.

What happens at my first appointment?+

Your first appointment at Matrix runs for 60 minutes. We spend the first 10 to 15 minutes understanding your history and diagnosing what is going on, followed by around 40 minutes of hands-on treatment, and we finish with a clear plan and a few exercises to take home. You leave knowing what is happening and what the next step is.

Where is the clinic and is there parking?+

Matrix Health & Performance is at 256 Lower Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe East VIC 3079, a short drive from Ivanhoe, Eaglemont, Heidelberg, and Alphington. There is parking available nearby.

What does an osteopath treat?+

Our osteopaths treat a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints, including lower back pain, neck and jaw pain, headaches and migraines, shoulder pain, sciatica, hip pain, knee pain, and foot and ankle pain. If we do not think osteopathy is the right fit for your problem, we will tell you honestly and help point you in the right direction.

Do you offer private health insurance rebates?+

Yes. If you have extras cover that includes osteopathy, you can usually claim a rebate on the spot through HICAPS. The amount you get back depends on your level of cover.

What are your opening hours?+

We are open six days a week: Monday to Thursday 8am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 7pm, and Saturday 9am to 2pm. We are closed on Sundays. You can book online any time or call the clinic on 03 9372 0460.

Ready to move better?
