Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy which emphasizes the idea that the body is one whole unit and every part is reciprocally interrelated. At Matrix Health & Performance we diagnose, treat and rehabilitate a very wide range of conditions, utilizing advanced assessment technology for the most accurate and timely outcomes.

There is a strong focus on the rehabilitation of the nervous system at Matrix Health & Performance, as we acknowledge that the musculoskeletal system is governed by the nervous system, and we aim to resolve the root cause of your problem, not just the symptoms.

Our clinic is located in Ivanhoe East, and we embrace patients from Ivanhoe, Eaglemont, Alphington, Heidelberg and beyond.

At Matrix Health & Performance, our osteopaths use techniques such as:

- Soft tissue release

- Stretch techniques

- Joint mobilizing and manipulation

- Dry needling

- Rehabilitation exercises

Conditions that we commonly treat include:

- Lower back pain including sciatica

- Upper back and shoulder pain

- Neck pain and headaches

- Dizziness and vertigo

- Knee pain

- Ankle and foot pain

- Sporting injuries

- Running injuries

We know that to achieve the best result, we need to go beyond the treatment room, so your osteopath will likely provide:

- Strengthening and corrective exercises

- Stretches

- Postural advice

- Ergonomic advice

- Nutrition and lifestyle advice

Osteopaths are also highly qualified! Osteopathy is a 5-year university degree and lifelong learning thereafter. As such, osteopaths are highly skilled in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and management of almost all acute and chronic conditions. Osteopathy is also recognised by most private health funds, as well as by medicare through the 'Enhanced Primary Care' (EPC) program via your GP doctor.
